Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about publishing directly from your email inbox, custom domains, media, and simple pricing.
01 How Email-to-Blog Works
How do I publish a post using just email?
Once you sign up and verify your email address, simply compose a normal message in your favorite mail app (Apple Mail, Gmail, Outlook, Superhuman, etc.).
Set the recipient to post@typejot.com. The email subject line becomes your post title, and the email body becomes the post content. After processing, your post is formatted and published on your blog.
How do you verify it’s really me sending the post?
Cloudflare Email Routing handles mail delivery and its authentication requirements. Typejot checks available SPF, DKIM, and DMARC results when they are present, then matches the sender to an address you have verified for your blog. A failed authentication result or an unverified sender is rejected.
These checks complement your mail provider’s SPF, DKIM, and DMARC enforcement; the worker does not independently validate cryptographic signatures from header text.
Can I use multiple email addresses to publish?
Yes! The 14-day Preview includes 1 verified sender, while Pro allows up to 3 verified email senders. This lets you post from your personal email, work inbox, or phone.
Can I format my posts with Markdown or rich text?
Both work naturally! If you write standard Markdown (like # headings, *italics*, **bold**, lists, or blockquotes), Typejot parses them natively. If your mail client sends styled rich text, our parser extracts clean, semantic paragraphs and formatting automatically.
How do email commands work (editing or deleting)?
Every time you publish a post, Typejot sends you an instant confirmation receipt. Reply directly to that email with a command such as:
CHANGE TITLE TO: A New Title Here— Updates the post titleDELETE— Removes the post from your public blog while keeping it recoverableRESTORE— Republishes an archived postCHANGE PHOTO— Selects a different hero image when one is available
Replies are matched to the post from the confirmation email. You can also manage posts directly from your web publication desk.
02 Photos & Media Attachments
Can I attach photos and images to my email?
Yes! Simply attach JPG, PNG, GIF, or WebP images to your email. The first photo attached automatically becomes your post’s prominent hero image, and any subsequent attachments are rendered into an elegant, responsive inline photo gallery.
How are images stored and optimized?
Images are stored in Cloudflare R2 distributed object storage. We automatically generate modern responsive WebP formats and serve them through edge caching for reliable delivery around the world.
What are the storage limits?
The 14-day Preview includes 128 MB of media storage. Pro includes 2 GB of Cloudflare R2 media storage for photography.
03 Custom Domains & Subdomains
What domain do I get during the Preview?
Every account gets a personal subdomain during setup: yourname.typejot.com. It comes with automated SSL and edge caching out of the box.
Can I use my own custom domain on Pro?
Yes! On the Pro plan, you can attach any domain or subdomain you own (for example, myname.com or blog.myname.com). Simply add a CNAME record pointing to Typejot, and our automated Cloudflare integration provisions a dedicated SSL certificate in minutes.
Do my readers get RSS feeds and sitemaps?
Yes! Every publication automatically generates an RSS 2.0 feed at /rss.xml and an XML sitemap at /sitemap.xml. Readers using Feedly, NetNewsWire, Readwise, or any open feed reader can subscribe with a single click.
04 Pricing & Subscription Plans
What is the difference between Preview and Pro?
14-day Preview: Includes 1 verified sender, a yourname.typejot.com subdomain, up to 3 private test posts, 128 MB storage, and the default theme. Public publishing requires Pro.

Can I cancel anytime?
Yes! You can cancel your subscription with 1 click in your account settings. There are no cancellation penalties or hidden lock-ins. You retain Pro features until the end of your billing cycle, and your existing posts remain intact.
05 Data Ownership & Export
Who owns the content I publish on Typejot?
You do. 100%. You retain all copyright and creative rights. We will never sell your content, train external language models on your essays, or place advertisements around your writing.
How do I export my writing if I decide to leave?
At any time, you can click "Export Archive" in your publication desk. Typejot generates a JSON archive containing your original and published text, post metadata, media metadata, and copied original media when available; download it when the status changes to Ready. You are never locked in.
